Cradle-to-cradle certified®: How to get started
The Cradle-to-Cradle Certification® is a way to validate products and companies for their sustainability irrespective of their industry. During the certification process, the whole value chain is analysed, from its economic efficiency to many different aspects of sustainability and circularity. Carefully selected raw materials are key. With our range of certified ALFAPURA® adhesives, you are already on the right track. With certified end products, you can gain the trust of consumers and your company becomes more competitive.
Reasons to get certified
Ecological requirements are on the rise in most countries. Additionally, the sustainability of products is an important aspect for many consumers. But eco-friendliness and suitability for a circular economy must be proven. The renowned certifications by the Cradle-to-Cradle Products Innovation Institute attest transparency to your product and trustworthiness to your company. With a Cradle-to-Cradle Certification®, you increase the economic and ecological potential of your products in a targeted manner. Environmentally conscious consumers are specifically looking for healthy and ecological products that deliver what they promise. They want to know exactly what the supply chain looks like and if the company acts responsibly.
With ALFAPURA®, you take an important step in this direction and together we will get your products ready for the certification process. We support you in bonding your products in such a way that they meet the requirements of the Cradle-to-Cradle Certified® concept. This works irrespectively of the industry: We already offer products for different application fields and are continuously developing new products. Our goal is to enable a sustainable bonding process for as many industries as possible and thereby contribute to a circular economy with zero waste. At the same time, our adhesives do not lack in power or user-friendliness and prove that sustainability does not come at the expense of quality.

PRINT- AND POST-PRINT INDUSTRY
In this industry, adhesives must be compatible with paper of any sort. Of course, there can be other requirements depending on the circumstances as well, such as special applications in the production of tear-off pads. For this situation, we offer ALFAPURA® 1822, which is suitable for the spine gluing of writing, note and tear-off pads. With its almost transparent film, the aesthetic of your products will still please every lover of handwritten notes. We have also developed special adhesives to produce books: ALFAPURA® 1852 is perfectly adapted for automatic lay flat gluing. This water-based synthetic resin adhesive can be applied with a roller. ALFAPURA® 1852 is fast setting and the film is almost transparent and blunt. On the other hand, for the spine gluing of thread-stitched book blocks, we developed ALFAPURA® 1855. It is optimized for roller application with its exceptional machine running properties.
Cardboard packaging
For sustainable packaging, we have outstanding options available, such as ALFAPURA® 1620. This water-based synthetic resin adhesive is perfectly suited to bonding paper and cardboard such as folding boxes. Another option is ALFAPURA® 1635. Both of these adhesives have an elastic, blunt adhesive film and are almost transparent. Therefore, no stains can be seen on the packaging. ALFAPURA® 1620 features a slightly lower viscosity, which makes it the superb choice for nozzle application. ALFAPURA® 1635 has been optimized for application with a wheel.
HYGIENE PRODUCTS AND TEXTILES
Our next ambition lies in Cradle-to-cradle certified® adhesives for hygiene products such as cotton swabs and different textile products. Our development is in full swing and we are looking forward to launching the next products soon. If you are looking for a product in these fields, please do not hesitate to contact us for more information.
BONDING WITH WOOD
ALFAPURA® 1771 is our specialized water-resistant adhesive for printed products. It can be applied with a nozzle or a wheel and is suitable for paper, cardboard and wood. Its strong bonding force offers extra resistance.
How to start with ALFAPURA®
We are aware that changes in the production process can be challenging. We support you in making this switch. All ALFAPURA® adhesives are designed for simple implementation and usage. They can be applied using standard equipment and can therefore easily replace the previously used adhesives.
Additionally, our experts will assist you during the whole implementation and the optimization of the process afterwards. We will help you in finding the proper product, define the optimal application quantity and eventually produce sustainable high-quality end products efficiently. If you are not sure that ALFAPURA® is the right choice, contact us. We offer feasibility studies for new application fields, for example for different industries than the ones mentioned above.
Our history shows that we have been at the forefront of developing sustainable products and high-quality solutions for our customers since the very beginning. Already in 1972, Emil Simmler decided to not make a compromise when it comes to producing solvent-free adhesives. And now, with ALFAPURA®, we have become a pioneer again. Design a Cradle-to-Cradle Certified® product with ALFAPURA® and show your customers that you care about the future.
