ZKB Innovation Award Zürcher Unterland
On October 1, 2021, the Zürcher Kantonalbank (ZKB) Innovation Award Zürcher Unterland was presented for the first time. From 20 diverse ideas, the ALFAPURA® product development was chosen as the winner.
At the first Business Symposium Zurich North, the ZKB Innovation Award Zürcher Unterland was presented for the first time. The award was intended to honour the company with the most inspiring innovation in the Zürcher Unterland region. The decision of the jurors in favour of ALFAPURA® came after the presentation of the 20 candidates at the Innovation Event on 14th of September, organized by Standort Zürcher Unterland. More than twenty companies submitted their ideas and concepts, of which three were shortlisted for the award. Thomas Simmler, CEO of the company, accepted the honour at the first Business Symposium Zurich North at the Riverside Congress Hotel in Glattfelden.

What ALFAPURA® stands for
ALFAPURA® is a water-based adhesive line that was developed to make end-products recyclable in accordance with the Cradle to Cradle® design principle. The ingredients and production of ALFAPURA® have been analyzed scientifically and are safe for biological cycles. This enables an efficient long-term use of raw materials and a significant reduction of resource and energy consumption. At the same time, the user benefits from optimal product properties. Without materials that are harmful to health and environment, ALFAPURA® paves the way for a waste-free economy and the return to the biological cycle. This innovation has earned the certification «Material Health Certificate GOLD» issued by the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute.
Areas of application
Adhesives that do not interfere with recyclability are becoming increasingly important – a development that is mirrored by rising demands on the international markets. The ALFAPURA® line supplies high-quality adhesives, that can easily be integrated in established production processes. Our adhesives can be used in the wood-industry, for cardboard packaging, hygiene products and textile. It is also ideal for spine gluing of writing-, note- and tear-off-pads because of its elastic, blunt adhesive film and its almost transparentness.
